Today IBEW Local 613 launched its new website, which is designed to improve member communication.
This new, robust website is optimized for mobile and tablet usage and provides members with easy access to the contact information for officers, staff and union leaders. Additionally, the site features a signatory contractors database, information pertaining to apprenticeship, organizing, construction issues and more.
Local 613 members will find the redesigned website easy to navigate. A useful tool, it contains important information pertaining to health insurance and retirement benefits, wage rates, contact information for elected officials and multiple other pages devoted to member resources.
Kenny Mullins, Business Manager of Local 613, felt the old website was not an effective communication tool.
He envisioned a visually appealing website, where members have easy access to important information. This new site meets those needs and offers the Local an easy and effective way to communicate with membership.
Additionally, Mullins wanted the new site to feature expanded information regarding business development. This specific section is dedicated to providing contractors with the benefits of becoming signatory with Local 613.
A blog/news section will also provide viewers with the latest Local news, industry updates and other important information. It will help highlight community involvement, raise awareness about certain construction issues and serve as a means to help educate the public about the work members perform.
The Local hopes the new website will help increase market share, provide better communications and encourage men and women to join Local 613 as apprentices or organized journeymen.
